Boop Dog Grooming Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Boop Dog Grooming (Boop)!

Boop offers a luxury one-on-one service where your dog/s are the only ones in the salon at the time of their appointment.

Appointment Times and Late Pick-Up

Arrival and pick-up times are important. So that Boop can provide the best for your pets, please make sure that you are on time for your appointment and on time to pick up your pup. Boop strives to provide at least a 30-minute advance notice when your pup is ready for pick-up.

Please understand that Boop does not provide kennel service. If you are unable to collect your dog within the agreed pick-up time, a late fee of $15 per 15 minutes will be payable. Should your dog remain uncollected by the end of the business day without prior arrangement with us, we may, at our discretion, surrender your dog to the RSPCA or Domestic Animal Services or to similar animal care centres that may make further efforts to reunite your dog with you and provide all necessary care to your dog.

Cancellations

Life happens and things pop up, if you would like to cancel or reschedule your appointment, Boop requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may incur a fee equivalent to the full price of the appointment.

While we do our best to ensure we keep all appointments, emergencies may arise and we reserve the right to cancel your appointment. If that occurs, we will give you as much notice as possible and work with you to reschedule your appointment to a time/day that works best for both of us.

Senior dogs, anxious dogs and dogs with health conditions

For older dogs, anxious dogs or dogs with health conditions, grooming can be an overwhelming experience. Boop will always put their needs first, doing this may result in extra time taken to complete the groom. It's crucial to share any information about your dog's health conditions, limited mobility, injuries, or recent surgeries so that we can provide the necessary care. If, at any time during the grooming process, it becomes too much for your dog, the groom may be paused or stopped for their comfort and wellbeing.

Aggressive dogs

You must inform Boop if your dog is in heat, aggressive and/or has bitten before so that we can prepare for their groom. In some cases, a soft muzzle may be used to try and keep both our staff and your pet safe. Muzzles, fitted correctly, do not harm dogs. Boop will always do our best to accommodate every dog however we reserve the right to refuse to groom or stop grooming an aggressive dog or a dog in heat for the safety of our staff and the dog.

Flea, tick and worming

All dogs are required to be on an up-to-date flea and tick schedule and be up-to-date with worming.

If fleas are found on your dog we may refuse or stop service, and we may charge you an additional fee for a flea removal treatment and a decontamination clean of the salon in addition to a full charge for the appointment.

Accidents and indemnity

Boop will always put your dog’s safety first, however sometimes accidents happen. By accepting these terms and conditions, you release Boop Dog Grooming and its employees from all liabilities, damages, or costs related to accidents or injuries to your dog, to you, or for any property damage, during and after grooming or at our premises (including death). This release does not apply if we have acted negligently.

Emergencies

In the unlikely event that urgent veterinary care is required to preserve your dog’s wellbeing, you authorise Boop Dog Grooming to seek treatment for your dog at the nearest veterinary hospital, usually the Parkway Veterinary Center in Kambah (even if we cannot contact you in advance).

We will make every effort to reach you or your designated emergency contact to advise of any incident or condition noticed or occurring during the service prior to transporting your dog to a veterinary hospital. Regardless of whether veterinary treatment has been sought, dog grooming services may be suspended or cancelled at our absolute discretion in such circumstances; and services will not recommence until you or your emergency contact has been contacted and permission to continue is granted, or confirmation of consent for veterinary assessment has been obtained.

You agree that you are responsible for all veterinary expenses however incurred.

Running Late/No-Show

Boop respects your time so please respect Boop’s. Boop retains the right to cancel any appointment where you are more than 15 minutes late. If you are running late please make contact and we will be able to discuss options.

Clients who fail to show up for their appointment without prior notice may be subject to a no-show fee, equivalent to the full price of the appointment.

Repeated instances of no-shows may result in the requirement of a prepayment for future appointments.

Matted Dogs

Boop will always put your pet’s health and comfort first. If matting is found you will be contacted to discuss your options.

Severe matting will need to be shaved. This procedure demands careful attention and extra time, resulting in additional charges (these will be discussed at the time the matting is found).

Since mats often conceal underlying issues, shaving them may expose pre-existing conditions like inflammation, infections, limited movement, and circulatory problems. It's not uncommon for grazes or rashes to appear after grooming, especially when mats are tight against the skin. When mats are present in areas like the ears or tail, blood flow can be restricted, potentially leading to hematomas. Removing mats may cause a sudden rush of blood to these areas, resulting in bleeding. Boop will not be held responsible for cuts, razor burns, irritated skin or any other issues that occur as a result of matted hair.

Sedated dogs

Grooming dogs that are under sedation can be dangerous. It is crucial that you inform us before the appointment if you have given your dog any form of sedation. Boop reserves the right to refuse to groom or stop the groom if we feel that your dog is not coping. Boop will not groom dogs that require heavy sedation. Boop does not sedate dogs under any circumstances.

Brachycephalic Breed: (Flat-faced breeds i.e. pugs)

These breeds require special care due to them being at risk of Brachycephalic Airway Obstructive Syndrome (BOAS) which increases their risk of breathing difficulties. Consequently, we may not be able to execute a complete drying procedure, as it can induce stress in certain dogs. At Boop, we prioritise your pet's wellbeing, and we reserve the right to halt the grooming process if we perceive that your dog is struggling to cope.

Vaccinations

All dogs must have a current C5 vaccination. C5 includes parvovirus, distemper, infectious hepatitis, parainfluenza and bordatella (kennel cough).  Boop may refuse to groom, or stop grooming your dog if it is suspected to carry a contagious disease or if evidence of the C5 vaccination is requested (but not provided). Boop is not responsible for potential infections or diseases contracted by your dog arising from our services.

Current vaccination certificates must be sighted on the arrival of all new customers.

Pictures and videos

Boop would like to show the world how good your pup looks! Therefore we may take photos and videos of your pup’s grooming session. Any content taken of your pet may be utilised as grooming evidence or shared on our social media profiles. You agree that Boop shall own such content, including any copyright in the photos and videos. Please let Boop know if you do not want us to take or share photos.

Wounds

Boop has the right to refuse to groom any dog with open or healing wounds due to the risk of infection.

Owners in the salon

Owners are not permitted to stay with their dogs during grooming as it can cause more stress for the dog. However, if we deem it in the best interest of the dog, we may request your presence.

Behaviour

We value all our clients and will always treat you with kindness and respect. We ask that you treat all of Boop’s staff the same. Rudeness and aggression will not be tolerated.

Payment

Full payment for the service provided must be made before the dog is released to the owner.

If service is suspended, terminated, or cancelled for reasons listed in these Terms and Conditions, including, but not limited to, discovery of health conditions and injuries, or stress and aggression responses, Boop may still charge the full price of the appointment for its time costs notwithstanding that grooming has not been completed.
